Artist Statement

Josiah Whitesinger

When he is asked about what interests him in art, it always goes back to the basics where he started creating art when he was young, because it was something he loved to do. Art has always been an interest for him, but never thought of it as a career. But when he enrolled into feather river college he began to explore more art media and art styles like painting, drawing, logo making, photography, and sculpture making. With this type of art and his type of talent for art, it gave him more hope for his future and for his people. This hope has pushed him to keep creating. He is greatly supported by his friends, family, and Native American people on the Navajo reservation. He wants to keep creating and keep making something out of himself for him and for his loved ones. Keep learning different methods and different styles, until he finds his type of art. But mostly he wants to continue to do it because he loves it and does it with passion.
